Tell us a little about you and your creations.
I retired from American Airlines in February and now am a full-time wood turner. I started making pens a few years ago, and now make everything from bowls to pepper mills to vases. I still make pens but now use many materials in my pens such as deer antler and stone.
Where did your business name come from?
My business name is Pat’s Pens & Things. I used my name in my business since I take pride in my work. I believe if you are proud of your work, you have no problem putting your name on it.
What do YOU love about your products?
I love that my products are “functional art”. It makes me happy to know someone will enjoy using my products.
What sets your creations apart from others?
Wood turning has almost become a lost art. Not too many people do wood turning like I do. Every piece of art made by turning wood on a lathe is unique.
Where do you find inspiration?
I get inspired when I see a piece of wood and begin to think about what could be made from it.
What craft would you like to learn more about?
I would like to learn leather working.

the table with friends and family.

One of a kind
