Tell us a little about you and your creations.
I’m 27 and work full time at Cancer Treatment Center’s of America in the Lab. My creations are something that started with Christmas presents and evolved from there! I work on them in the evenings when I watch TV. Makes me feel as if I am accomplishing something while I lounge around watching my shows.
Where did your business name come from?
My boyfriend actually came up with the name, I asked him to help me and Simply Splendor is what he came up with so I went with it!
What do YOU love about your products?
I love that they are all handmade and I try to make what people ask for. I have lots of friends say “Can you do this?” and I try! So far I haven’t had any complaints!
What sets your creations apart from others?
I think that since they are all handmade wooden type creations it sets me apart because no piece will ever be the same as much as I can try!
Where do you find inspiration?
Friends and Family mostly when they say you should try this next.
What craft would you like to learn more about?
I would love to learn how to make ceramics like my friend Marsha Whalen (Aunt Daisy’s Attic) who will be also at Alliday. She makes her own ceramics that her candles go in and she is amazing at what she can do to set her handmade candles apart from the store bought ones.
The Alliday Show believes that every day is special and should be treated as a holiday! That being said, which holiday do you wish were every day and why?
Thanksgiving because it’s revolved around Family and Friends and of course eating!
If you could create your own holiday, what would it be and why?
That’s a hard question, I’ll have to think but I don’t know of one at the moment.
How would you describe your work in three words?
Decorative, wooden, fun
